Arkin spent the majority of his life confined to a kennel that was bare. He was in a Romanian dog pound and did not appear to have any other purpose in life.
Each day, he engaged in only three activities: eating, drinking water, and peering out from inside the kennel. It was a solitary existence for him.
You could argue that it was acceptable because he had access to food, shelter, and water. However, a dog requires more than that.
Because the dog pound was a public facility, it was the home to a large number of stray dogs. This also meant that there was insufficient money to provide for all the dogs’ basic requirements. Some needed medical assistance, but this was not included in the budget. Additionally, the dogs received no attention or love.
Howl Of A Dog, a non-profit animal rescue organization, one day paid a visit to the public pound and encountered Arkin. They witnessed his plight.
Arkin was unconcerned about the strangers. He had no emotion at all. He sadly appeared to have actually given up hope of being adopted.
The rescue squad was aware that Arkin needed assistance. They wished for the dog to rediscover happiness and hope that life has to offer. So they brought Arkin out of the shelter and worked to ensure that he was healthy. They also had to give him a medicinal bath due to his flea infestation.
When Arkin was declared healthy, he was turned over to his foster home. He was taught how to socialize there. His foster family also gave him the opportunity to experience all the world has to offer.
After a few months, a guy learned about Arkin and recognized immediately that this was the dog for him. He adopted Arkin and relocated him to New Hampshire.
Arkin is now experiencing the world with his new fur parent who loves him and takes care of him.
