Adorable Cleft Palate Puppy That Was Abandoned By Breeder Miraculously Survives, Thanks To A Kitten

Thousands of puppies are abandoned every year. Many of these puppies come from breeders and not many survive.

The only reason why breeders would dump a puppy is that they’re born different. However, many of the birth defects are often caused by bad breeding practices and these backyard breeders don’t want to own the responsibility of taking care of these puppies.

Meet Barnabus

A tiny bulldog puppy named Barnabus was dumped by the breeder within hours of being born. Barnabus had a cleft palate which made it hard for him to feed. Around half of cleft palate puppies don’t survive even with intervention. As soon as the rescuers took Barnabus in their care, he was immediately tube-fed.

A woman named Laura Labelle volunteered to foster Barnabus. That very same day, Laura also fostered a tiny kitten named Brocolli. Laura knew that Barnabus needed a lot of stimulation to survive. Puppies tend to do better if they’re with other puppies. So, Laura had an amazing idea.

Brocolli and Barnabus

Laura decided to put Brocolli with Barnabus. The moment they met, they snuggled. Snuggling with Brocolli helped Barnabus a lot. He became more active because he was being stimulated by Brocolli and he also grew up having a friend beside him.

Eventually, Barnabus grew into a feisty little puppy who’s very vocal about everything. He and Brocolli became inseparable and the two would play nonstop. Brocolli developed a lot faster than Barnabus since she didn’t have any birth defects. When it became time for Brocolli to go to his new forever home, Barnabus needed a new friend.

That’s when Barnabus started hanging out with another special needs puppy named Ellery who was born with five legs. The two puppies became best friends to the point that they act like they are brothers. To view the full story about Barnabus and his friends, click the play button below.
