Soldiers and their military dogs share an unbreakable bond. They put their lives on the line to defend their country, and they work hard to protect each other while in the line of duty. In between exchanges of bombs and bullets, they become each other’s source of comfort, hope, and determination to fight for one more day.
Once their mission is over, they go back to their normal lives. Well, at least they try to. It takes a while to transition to life outside the battlefield. They’re also required to undergo therapy to process the things they witnessed and experienced while on the mission.
Finding a good home for Taylor
A lot of people aren’t aware of this, but soldiers don’t always end up adopting their military dogs. The reason being, the adoption process can be quite pricey, thus discouraging soldiers from even signing up. Luckily, for Sgt. Tom Hanson, the universe conspired in helping him reunite with his trusty canine partner, Taylor.
Taylor was put for adoption the moment she retired. She had been on several tours in Afghanistan, one of which she was given the task to protect Sgt. Tom Hanson and other soldiers on the mission. Taylor was an excellent military dog that the Taliban placed a bounty on her adorable head.
Flight attendant Molli Oliver caught wind of Taylor’s story. Wanting to help out, Oliver made it her personal mission to help the retired military dog reunite with Sgt. Hanson.
A heartwarming reunion
Molli took care of all the expenses required to make the reunion possible. She had no qualms doing it because what mattered more to her was helping Taylor find a good home, and that meant being with Sgt. Hanson.
