Chico went viral on social media because of his funny antics. Edward Alvarado, Chico’s owner, thought his German Shepherd and Husky mix pup would turn out to be a guard dog. However, he is too friendly for that role and more interested in playing fetch with his dad.
Chico was just like other pups: curious and playful. One night, he went for an adventure without his dad’s knowledge.
At 3 am, Chico went to the Odessa Police Department, which was one mile away from where he lived.
There was something he had to report to the police officers. Of course, these officers didn’t speak the dog’s language, so they assumed that he was there to report himself missing. The officers were surprised by the dog’s presence. They tried to observe if Chico showed any signs of fear or abuse.
The cute dog walked in and casually placed his paws on the counter. It was clear that he only wanted to have fun. He was able to get what he wanted as the officers spent lots of time petting him. They also played fetch while they tried to figure out what they were going to do next.
The police took a snapshot of Chico’s strange entrance and shared the picture on social media so his family could find them. They found a collar around Chico’s neck, but it had broken tags. Luckily, the officers found a microchip. They called animal control to have it scanned.
Chico wasn’t pleased with the idea, so he left before they arrived. The police officers thought that Chico ran off, but this wasn’t the case. Chico went home to his owner, pretending that nothing had happened. Alvarado didn’t know about Chico’s late-night adventure until his nephew showed him the photos.
The dog in the photos was, without a doubt, Chico. Alvarado added a comment on the police station’s post to let them know that Chico returned home safely. The police station also posted an update that Chico could come to the police station anytime.
