In adopting dogs, sometimes it is hard to separate siblings from each other, especially if one of the siblings has special needs or deformities. Most of the time, dogs with imperfections are on the kill list.
Picasso and Pablo are siblings. The owner brought them to the shelter because he couldn’t sell them. The siblings are runts, and one of them has a twisted jaw. Because of their imperfections, they are scheduled to be euthanized.
Liesl Wilhardt, executive director of Luvable Dog Rescue, heard about the plight of these two dogs. She took the two dogs and named them Picasso (the dog with a twisted jaw) and Pablo. Liesl named the dogs after the famous painter, Pablo Picasso.
Liesl gave the two pups a second chance in life.
At Luvable Dog Rescue, Picasso and Pablo can be seen playing around with the two other dogs. They are friendly and loving dogs. They also like going on hikes.
Picasso and Pablo are also healthy. Picasso needs to undergo surgery to fix his deformity. A tooth bore a hole in his mouth.
Liesl has put the photos of Picasso and Pablo on Instagram and Facebook, and a lot of people fell in love with the two dogs. People find them adorable and charming, despite their imperfections.
Sadly, Pablo passed away at 18 months due to a brain aneurysm. Picasso, on the other hand, doing well. He is undergoing training to be a therapy dog. He will be doing a lot of humanitarian activities with Luvable Dog Rescue.
Picasso will continue to inspire people with his “wonky” looks. His story has reached the other parts of the globe.
Luvable Dog Rescue is an organization that caters to dogs who are on the kill list. Usually, they take in bully dog breeds and pregnant dogs. You can see photos of dogs under their care on Instagram.
Continue to infect others with your smile, Picasso!
